School Song and Prayer

OUR SCHOOL SONG

Welcome to this place of joy
Whose history sings a living song;
Many hands and hearts and lives
Create our school where we belong.

Mountains rise our spirits breathe,
In space whose precious mem’ries call
To us new mem’ries to create,
and build the story of St Paul’s.

Constant in faith,
Joyful in hope,
Learning how love can still grow;
New sacred spaces hold great ancient dreams,
And God’s face in our lives starts to show.

Mary MacKillop walked our grounds,
Her sisters carried on the dream;
Now our time has come to sing
With love and thanks for what has been.

Reverence, respect and care,
Gifts received we freely share;
Including everybody’s needs
In learning, playing, work and prayer.

Constant in faith,
Joyful in hope,
Learning how love can still grow;
New sacred spaces hold great ancient dreams,
And God’s face in our lives starts to show.

Now Jesus’ story lives in us,
With spirit and with faith we pray
That everyone who loves our school
Will live and love in Jesus’ way

Constant in faith,
Joyful in hope,
Learning how love can still grow;
New sacred spaces hold great ancient dreams,
And God’s face in our lives starts to show.

OUR SCHOOL PRAYER

Our school prayer was re-written in 2011 and amended in 2016 to reflect our Positive Behaviour for Learning (PB4L) Framework by the staff and students of the school. The prayer encompasses our school vision statement, school motto, 'Constant in Faith', and school rules – as well as acknowledging the charisms of St Mary of the Cross MacKillop and St Paul. We conclude our prayer with a formal prayer of the Church to acknowledge that we are part of the broader Catholic Church.

Dear Jesus,

We give thanks for our St Paul’s community.
As we learn together in a safe and happy environment we try to achieve excellence.
Help us today to:

  • Be Respectful
  • Be Safe
  • Be Responsible and give witness to the life and mission of Jesus.

We ask that with the help of St Mary of the Cross and St Paul, we will be constant in faith on our journey of life.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit
As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be world without end.
Amen.

St Paul, pray for us.
St Mary of the Cross MacKillop, pray for us.
